NCsoft working on AION's congestion problems

More servers are not the solution, says NCsoft.

The popular MMO Aion has has suffered plenty of congestion issues - many players having to wait hours to login. Developer NCsoft says that the solution isn't just a case of adding servers.

The problem is caused by players are looking at a few select worlds, thereby creating bottlenecks in the most active hours. To solve the problem, NCsoft will instead provide players with the ability switch servers for free. The offer lasts for a month and can only be used once, for a limited period.

Aion was released on 25th September and has benefited from digital sales. It was pre-ordered 400,000 times.
