City of Heroes Issue 16 has launched
Color me impressed.
Players have been asking about power customization ever since City of Heroes launched. The developers said “can’t be done” all that time. Yet, with the launch of the 16th free expansion for City of Heroes this week, it has been done.
Issue 16 has power customization as its mean feature meaning that you can change colors and animations of your powers. Pink ice armor? Chec k. Green fire pets? Check.
Players have access to thousands of tintable particle and geometry effects for powers and customizable primary and secondary colors for powersets. Powerset themes are selectable for a complete set, or individual powers, too.
The expansion brings lots of other new features as well including a new super sidekick system meaning that your whole team gets boosted/lowered to the level of the leader and/or the active mission.
Powersets have been proliferated as well, so that all archetypes have access to more power choices. On top of that most epic power pools have been expanded with brand new powers.
Another interesting new features are the new difficulty options that allow you to play the way you want. You can for example set a map to spawn foes for eight people even though, you are on your own.
